For colleges that do a good job, the data are a chance to bring recognition not normally bestowed by publications such as U.S. News & World Report, which is known for producing an annual ranking of the “best” colleges. But for institutions that do not serve students well, hiding in the shadows of misinformation just got a lot harder.
